Important Update: Case Material Submissions & Archive Organization
The CaseDive now has a centralized “Submit Case Materials” system available across case groups. These are located in every group on a pinned post.
Going forward, documents, screenshots, PDFs, timelines, records, and other research materials should be submitted through the new “Submit Case Materials” button rather than posted directly into discussion feeds whenever possible.
Why we’re making this change:
As the archive grows, organization and long-term research accessibility become increasingly important.
This new system helps:
• reduce duplicate uploads
• preserve source/context information
• organize materials more effectively
• improve moderation and archival review
• create a safer and more structured environment for contributors, researchers, creators, families, and community members
All submissions are reviewed before publication. Approved materials may be organized into the appropriate case files, tags, or archive sections by The CaseDive or designated Case Caretakers.
Before submitting materials:
• Please check the Case Group Files section to see if the materials have already been archived
• Group related screenshots/images into PDF files whenever possible
• Include source/context information when available
• Graphic crime scene photographs, autopsy images, or disturbing media may not be uploaded directly to the platform
The archival intake system, moderation tools, and research workflow features will continue evolving over time as the platform grows.
Thank you to everyone helping build a more organized and genuinely useful long-term case research space! 📂
