The CaseDive is a collaborative community for individuals who enjoy discussing, researching, and analyzing criminal cases. These guidelines exist to help maintain a respectful, productive, and thoughtful environment for everyone participating.

By joining the community, you agree to follow these guidelines.

1. Be Respectful

Discussions on The CaseDive may involve sensitive topics, including crimes, victims, families, and ongoing investigations.

Members are expected to treat one another with respect and avoid:

  • harassment

  • threats

  • personal attacks

  • bullying

  • hostile behavior

Disagreements are normal in case discussions, but they should remain civil and constructive.

Many of the cases discussed involve real people and real loss.

Members should avoid:

  • mocking victims or families

  • encouraging harassment toward individuals connected to a case

  • posting insensitive or harmful content

Thoughtful discussion is welcome, but empathy should always be part of the conversation.

3. Avoid Posting Private Personal Information

Do not share private or identifying information about individuals, including:

  • home addresses

  • phone numbers

  • private email addresses

  • workplace information

  • personal social media accounts not already publicly associated with the case

Posting personal information about private individuals may result in content removal or account restrictions.

4. No Harassment or Targeted Behavior

The CaseDive is not a place for organizing harassment or targeting individuals involved in cases.

Members may discuss public information related to cases, but should not attempt to:

  • contact witnesses or families

  • encourage harassment of individuals

  • organize online campaigns against private individuals​

5. Focus on Discussion and Research

The purpose of the platform is to facilitate thoughtful discussion and collaborative analysis of cases.

Members are encouraged to:

  • share research

  • ask questions

  • analyze timelines

  • discuss media coverage

  • explore theories respectfully

The goal is curiosity and collaboration, not hostility.

6. No Spam or Self-Promotion

Posts should contribute to case discussion or community interaction.

Excessive self-promotion, unrelated advertising, or spam content may be removed.

7. Follow Applicable Laws

Users are responsible for ensuring their activity on the platform complies with applicable laws.

Illegal content or behavior is strictly prohibited.

8. Moderation

Administrators and moderators may take action when necessary to maintain a safe and respectful community.

Moderation actions may include:

  • removing content

  • locking discussions

  • issuing warnings

  • suspending or banning accounts

Moderation decisions are made to protect the health of the community.

The CaseDive is designed to grow with the people who use it.
