Cornelia June "Connie" Enright was 19 years old when she disappeared after meeting a friend for dinner in Rotterdam, New York. More than five decades later, investigators have never determined what happened to her, and her disappearance remains one of the oldest active missing persons cases in the Schenectady area.
Background and Disappearance
On the evening of April 24, 1969, Connie borrowed her mother's car and drove from her family home in Schenectady to Lum's Restaurant on Altamont Avenue in Rotterdam to meet a friend and coworker. The two spent the evening together before leaving the restaurant around 11:00 p.m. Her friend drove home without incident, believing Connie had also left to return home. Connie never arrived.
The following morning, Connie's parents reported her missing after realizing she had not returned home. Her mother's vehicle was later found abandoned and locked outside a Friendly's restaurant on State Street in Schenectady. Connie's purse and the vehicle's keys were missing, and she has never been seen again.
Investigation
The Schenectady Police Department has continued to investigate Connie's disappearance for decades. Although her abandoned vehicle was recovered shortly after she vanished, no confirmed sightings, physical evidence, or definitive leads have explained what happened to her. Investigators continue to ask anyone with information to come forward. The case remains open.
